Summary: This project included a major reorganization and redesign of existing user guides and reference manuals. This sample demonstrates one guide and one manual. The guide is a booklet distributed with the BioDot cutting system and was intended to help the customer get started with the equipment. The manual was a complete online reference for working with a reel-to-reel web handling system.

Production: Since the client required a common format that they could work with after the project, I used Word to format and create the documents and Acrobat to generate the online versions of them. I was also responsible for the documents' design and layout.

Authorship: These samples are intended to demonstrate my information design skills as opposed to writing skills. The project did not require writing new information but instead required redesigning existing content into new information structures and document layouts.

Audience: The audience for both documents included research technicians and engineers.

Because of the nature of the project, the samples are presented in a "before and after" format.
