The page functions like a wizard in that it walks you through each of the settings and preferences you need to set up your vehicle and its charge settings. Simply read the description on the page and answer the corresponding questions. When you click the Next button, the page refreshes to ask you for more information until you finish the electric vehicle setup process.
The goal in setting up your electric vehicle is to minimize your energy costs while ensuring your vehicle maintains enough of a charge for when you need to use it. When setting up your electric vehicle settings, you specify both the time of day at which you need your vehicle to be ready and the minimum charge you need to drive to your destinations. As soon as you plug your vehicle in, it will immediately charge until the minimum charge percentage is reached, regardless of time of day and cost of energy. After the minimum charge is reached, charging is adjusted to take advantage of time periods when energy is less expensive.
Note that the vehicle charge information the Consumer Portal provides is projected information. Its accuracy depends on the accuracy of the information you provide about your vehicle.
