When you run the setup wizard during initial account setup or through the Settings menu, the setup wizard guides you through setting up Smart Controls. The Set up Smart Controls page allows you to edit default Smart Controls that are included with theConsumer Portal. After you finish running the setup wizard, you can create your own Smart Controls by accessing the Smart Control page through the main menu.

To set up your default Smart Control:

  1. Note which default Smart Control you are currently setting up so that you can decide on the settings you want to apply (which devices to select and whether or not to schedule the Smart Control). The currently selected Smart Control is identified at the top left of the page, along with its icon.
  2. If you want to schedule the Smart Control, click the Set schedule button and then follow the instructions on the page. If you do not set a schedule, you can manually activate the Smart Control through the Consumer Portal or mobile application whenever you want to turn the Smart Control on or off.
  3. Review the rooms and devices listed in the panel in the middle of the page to decide which devices you want to include or exclude from the Smart Control. Each room shows the devices connected to the room's corresponding PowerNode(s). If a port is not in use on the PowerNode, the device icon shows it as an open port. When you place the mouse over a device icon, the PowerNode icon to the left shows that device's port location on the PowerNode.
  4. To include a device so that it is activated by the Smart Control, select its check box (devices are selected by default).
  5. To exclude a device so that it is not activated by the Smart Control, clear its check box.
