How to Specify Geo-Modifiers

A geo-modifier is a geographic area, usually based on a geo-target, that is combined with a root keyword to make one keyword.

What you should know:

  • By default, geo-modifiers are automatically managed by Geneva based on the geo-targeting selections you make for the editorial group. You therefore only need to perform this procedure if you do not want to use the default set.

  • Depending on your reseller account, WebVisible might perform this procedure for the campaigns created by your organization.

  • Any time you make changes to editorial group information in Geneva you should add a note and describe what the change is.

Before you begin:

Procedure:

  1. Access the editorial group for which you are specifying geo-modifiers, if it is not already open:

    1. Search for the campaign containing that editorial group, and then click the campaign ID link for that campaign in the search results list. The Campaign Maintenance page opens, with the Campaign tab active.

    2. Click the Editorial Grps tab.

    3. Click the Edit link next to the editorial group’s title. The page refreshes with a form to edit the editorial group.

  2. Click the Edit link next to the Geo Modifier Settings title in section 2.

  3. If geo-modifiers are being automatically managed by Geneva, you must disable the feature by clearing the Automanage check box. The Geo Modifiers box is enabled for editing.

  4. Edit the geo-modifiers as follows:

    • Enter each geo-modifier one per line in the Geo Modifiers box.

    • To add a geo-modifier, add it on a new line.

    • To edit a geo-modifier, highlight that geo-modifier and type the new text.

    • To remove a geo-modifier, delete the line containing that geo-modifier.

  5. When you have finished adding or editing keywords in the Geo Modifiers box, click OK. The page refreshes to the original form to edit the editorial group.

  6. Click OK when you have finished working with the editorial group.

  7. Click Save.
