How to Use MOE to Set up Advertiser Accounts
Modular Order Entry (MOE) is a Web-based application that enables advertisers to create their own account so that business information, campaigns, editorial groups, and contracts are automatically set up in Geneva. You can also use MOE yourself as an alternative to entering data directly into Geneva. After the advertiser enters their information in MOE, you can access their new account in Geneva to finish creating their editorial group and flight their campaign to ad networks to make the ads live.
What you should know:
-
While this topic refers to the application as Modular Order Entry (MOE), you might have renamed it to something else for your own branding purposes.
Before you begin:
-
You must set up MOE with WebVisible and provide access to it through a Web site.
-
Ensure that the advertiser has a landing page in place that meets our best practices. If they do not have a landing page in place, consider using the WebVisible Landing Pages product.
Procedure:
-
Direct advertisers to the URL you have set up for MOE.
-
Log on to Geneva with a user account that has permissions for managing advertisers and campaigns.
-
Search for the new campaign, and then click the campaign ID link for that campaign in the search results list. Campaign names created through MOE begin with the words MOE Campaign. The Campaign Maintenance page opens, with the Campaign tab active.
-
Review the information on the Campaign tab. If the advertiser is using the WebVisible Landing Pages product and you know the URL for that landing page, you can provide it in the Landing Page URL box. You must provide the complete URL (for example, you must enter http://www.example.com instead of www.example.com). To verify that the URL is valid, click Check URL. If the URL is valid, the Web site opens in a secondary window.
-
Click the Locations tab, and review the information there. You can edit the existing location by clicking the address link, and you can add additional locations by clicking Add.
-
Click the Editorial Grps tab, if you want to review the information there:Click the Editorial Grps tab, and review the information there. You can edit the existing information by clicking the Edit link, and you can add additional editorial groups by clicking the Add a new Editorial Group link. Advertisers cannot enter all of their own editorial group information through MOE. Items that they cannot enter, and which you therefore must manage, include:
-
Categories (while the advertiser selects a generic category, you can further refine the categories and add more if needed)
-
-
if you are not allowing Geneva to automatically manage it.
-
Click Save.
-
Review the entire campaign to ensure there are no errors, and change its status to Active (Normal) when it is ready to go live. When the status is Active (Normal), Geneva sends the campaign to the ad networks so that the ads go live as of the start date on the campaign’s contract.
